We are a group of mad scholars, activists and pioneers seeking systemic change in the field of mental health.
We met in January 2023 as students of the MSc Mad Studies course at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.
Soon after this, we started running meetup groups in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Our aim was to share what we were learning in Mad Studies with the wider community.
Since then we have been learning together and working together as part of the mad movement, in order to
share knowledge
invite dialogue
widen participation
and inspire change.
We were grateful to receive a grant from
which has allowed us to develop this website, grow our membership, inspire mad projects and just generally create mayhem.
Little did we know, back at the start of 2023, that the meetups hosted by Ali, Julia and Jesse would grow into Mad Insight. We hope you will join us!
